My name is Telah Black. I am a second-year Ph.D. student in Food Science at Auburn University and am currently pursuing a graduate certificate in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML). My research focuses on the development of food safety technologies for detecting contamination on food products and food contact surfaces using multispectral imaging systems. I also develop and apply machine learning algorithms to analyze these imaging data for classification and detection purposes.
My background in microbiology includes work with spoilage microorganisms and foodborne pathogens, and my current research also explores methods for early biofilm detection.
