Abdulaziz Jallow is a senior Food Science student at the University of Delaware and a production intern at the university's UDairy Creamery. His hands-on experience in dairy production, from cheese and ice cream manufacturing to shelf-life studies and quality assurance testing, solidified his understanding of how equipment design and sanitation practices directly impact food safety. This practical foundation, combined with his academic background, has fueled his interest in hygienic design and his desire to understand the standards that make food production safer. Abdul is honored to receive the Dr. Ron Schmidt Student Travel Award and is eager to learn from the experts behind 3-A Sanitary Standards, bringing those insights back to the plant floor, whether in a lab or in production.
