Carmen Lizbeth Cantú Reyes was born in Mexico and is a Senior Microbiologist with over 11 years of experience in applied microbiology within the food industry.She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Genomic Biotechnology from Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL) and Master’s Degree in Industrial Process Management from Universidad Regiomontana (U-Erre). Carmen worked for 3 years as a Microbiology Analyst and HACCP Analyst, developing expertise in quality control, microbiological analysis, and risk management. She has been at Ecolab for 8 years leading projects that focused on food safety and hygiene innovations as well as food microbiology and contamination control. Carmem is an active participant in IAFP Global and IAFP Latin America, contributing to the exchange of knowledge and best practices in food safety worldwide. She has visited multiple clients across Latin America, including facilities in beer, beverage, protein, and general food segments.
