Matthew is a highly accomplished leader in sanitation, food safety, and quality management, with nearly 20 years of industry experience. Currently serving as the Regional Sanitation Director for North America at Kerry Inc., Matthew has driven transformative improvements in food safety culture, vendor relations, and operational efficiency across more than 45 sites encompassing a diverse portfolio of products and technologies. His innovative strategies have resulted in significant pathogen reductions, cost savings exceeding $1 million, and enhanced sustainability through reduced water, energy, and chemical usage.
Matthew’s expertise spans multiple roles including Food Safety, Quality, Sanitation, Product Development, & Operations Leadership. He has developed and implemented regional sanitation excellence frameworks, led foundational sanitation programs, and built strong teams through targeted hiring, training, and mentorship. He is recognized for his ability to foster collaborative environments, establish customer confidence, and deliver measurable improvements in key performance indicators by focusing on people and strategy. He strongly believes that sanitation principles and hygienic design needs to become more readily accessible and understood across all functions within a production environment.
Matthew holds a B.S. in Biology and B.S. in Chemistry from St. Joseph’s College, Indiana. and is certified as a FSMA Preventive Controls Qualified Individual, HACCP, SQF Practitioner, ASQ Certified Quality Auditor, and First Responder. Matthew’s commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and sustainability ensures his contributions are both practical and impactful for organizations striving for sanitation excellence. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time playing with his daughter and he is an avid muskie fisherman, member of a muskie fishing club, and can spend hours talking about fishing.
