Full Name
Sanjay Kumar
Speaker Bio
Sanjay is an operations and technology leader focused on scaling data-driven and intelligent capabilities across manufacturing, supply chain, energy, and other asset-intensive industries—ensuring they are usable, trusted, and embedded in everyday work.
Over the past 20+ years, he has worked at the intersection of manufacturing, operations, and technology, evolving from technology strategy into leading large-scale technology adoption. He has led data-driven operations initiatives in the U.S., helping organizations move beyond pilots to scaled impact across plants, assets, and networks.
His background spans digital strategy, product and program leadership, and end-to-end delivery of complex technology initiatives—from business development, sales and partner engagement through execution. He has worked closely with client executives and global teams across North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America, leading complex, multi-region transformations across food, manufacturing, energy, automotive, retail, financial services, telecommunications, and the public sector.
Across this work, he has led global assessments, defined transformation strategies, and executed programs that deliver measurable business results. A consistent focus has been understanding how adoption actually happens—ensuring new capabilities are practical, aligned to operations, and embedded into day-to-day work.
A core focus of his work is the human side of transformation. While there is significant momentum around generative and agentic technologies, the real question is whether these capabilities are truly used by operators, technicians, and supervisors responsible for performance on the plant floor.
He focuses on bridging that gap—integrating new technologies into existing workflows and augmenting how work already gets done, including spreadsheets, whiteboards, walkarounds, and tribal knowledge. This includes assessing readiness, aligning with how decisions are made, and driving the organizational change required for sustained adoption.
Sanjay serves as a mentor and advisor across academic and innovation ecosystems, including the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, the Centrepolis Industry 4.0 Accelerator, Siemens Dynamo and Startup Genome.
